“Everyone knows at this point how the attitudes of the Catholic Church lead to priests sexually abusing the young ones in their congregations, and through the years, the news has been full of that.”
Who is everyone ? The Communists?
Read about Bella Dodd and the Catholic Church
Then- Look at every religious human organization -
Full of terrible people
We are broken individuals capable of both good and evil.
Let’s not trivialize the Church that Jesus Christ himself started
All the others borrowed from its beginning and are man made and made up their own rules - and cut 7 books from the Bible bc they were a tad inconvenient .
Let’s try to do less bashing and more reading and praying for the good, the true and the beautiful.
We should all do our homework diligently.
It’s the only path up to The Truth- our Heavenly Father
As a life long Catholic, I agree with my former priest when he told the congregation that they "ought to be pissed off" when it was openly talked about the corruption and sexual abuse within the church. This priest soon found himself excommunicated from the church. Healing doesn't start till what happened is acknowledged and apologized for and possibly the perpetrators put in prison. Sweeping it under the rug doesn't work, nor removing a pedophile priest from one church and putting the priest in another church to molest another innocent person again.
The real heroes stand and make necessary changes so no one in the future gets hurt.
No one is bashing Jesus. We are just making sure the Church is on the right path. I think the point of the article is you can't just ignore abuse and hope it goes away.
He looks like he started his own church, which would’ve caused the excommunication. It’s similar to why their was a break between Luther and the Catholic Church. He’s not wrong to question, but starting your own church is not the best option for those who understand the fallibility of humans. I feel for him and understand his perspective and yours.
He passed on a few years back. He was an alcoholic but had the ability to speak at the level people understood. A lot of people really loved him. I think the church had issues and rightly so with him being an alcoholic but when he started to preach about the sins of the church, molesting kids and relocating the priest that did it, well that did it for the church. I think the church excommunicated him first then he started his own church? My memory is a bit murky on it though. It all happened about the same time.
Don`t forget you can drown in a bucket of water. Takes a lot of iodine to be in excess though one needs to start slow when starting on iodine because of the potential for thyroid detox
